WHERE DR MEETS QC/QA


​Using the DR Radchex Plus and Image Optimizing Software, users can maintain QC & QA of their medical imaging systems. The software produces standardized test images for subjective image scoring and allows the user to compare the performance of different brands of digital detector systems. ​
The following video displays how easy it is to set up the meter and take a test exposure for quick QC/QA:
  • Place the DR Radchex Plus on an X-ray machine’s table top to start the process for Monthly Quality Assurance testing.
  • Then an exposure is made to the embedded DR Radchex Plus ‘patient-equivalent' phantom (1.5 mm Cu), which will show: 
    • Entrance & Exit doses on the OLED display (mR or mGy) &
    • Image Scores & DR Exposure Indicator Values on the viewing monitor

Once these values are entered into the included software, it can then graph the values automatically & custom reports are produced to identify any ‘out of tolerance’ trends. Reports are viewed, printed & stored for use by Technologists, Physicists, Engineers and/or State Inspectors.

The Subjective (Visual) Features of the DR Radchex Plus:

The user enters OLED values to indicate the dose used to produce images. The subjective (visual) assessment of images is compared to the phantom’s benchmark image quality. When subjective image scores and dose values are tracked over time, they can confirm the integrity of X-ray & Image Processing Systems.
